Manageability
Tiffany Tabbal, Principal and Co-owner of Manageability LLC, built her career through the power of mentorship. In 2008, while attending a University of Hawaii at Manoa event, Tiffany met her mentor, Mark Tawara, a connection that would shape her professional journey. After graduation, she worked at Belt Collins, where Mark was the Marketing Director, and later moved on to Bowers + Kubota. In 2019, Tiffany joined Mark at Manageability LLC, and by 2022, she became a partner in the company.
Founded in 2015, Manageability is a marketing and management consulting firm specializing in the built environment. The firm serves architects, engineers, contractors, and other industry professionals, offering services such as website design, qualification submittals for bidding on projects, brochures, and social media management. With six employees, the firm’s niche expertise and involvement in professional boards and organizations have earned it a solid reputation within the industry.
Before connecting with YWCA Oʻahu through Central Pacific Bank’s WE by Rising Tide program, Tiffany sought resources to strengthen her understanding of business financials and explore strategies for growth. Although Manageability was already well-established, Tiffany wanted to enhance her financial literacy and build a roadmap for expanding the firm, including hiring more employees and attracting new clients.
Tiffany’s connection with YWCA Oʻahu’s Senior Manager, Valerie Kubota, and participation in the YWahine in Business Accelerator led by Mariko Gordon, provided her with the tools she needed. The program deepened her understanding of financial reports, giving her the confidence to plan for growth. Valerie also connected Tiffany with U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) resources, which helped her pursue business certifications. As a result, Manageability was certified under the Hawaii Department of Transportation’s Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program, and Tiffany is in the process of applying for the SBA Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) certification.
In addition to business growth, Tiffany is actively involved in her community. She’s in her second year co-chairing the AIA Honolulu CANstruction® event, which supports the Hawaii Foodbank. The event has donated over 743,690 pounds of canned goods and raised $110,000 for the Foodbank. Her engagement with the Society for Marketing Professional Services and AIA Honolulu underscores her dedication to both professional development and community service.
Reflecting on her experience, Tiffany shared, “Val has been amazing. She encouraged me to apply for the business accelerator program, which improved my understanding of my financial reports and gave me the confidence to grow my business and increase my team. Additionally, she linked me to SBA resources, which enabled me to apply for the Women-Owned Small Business certification.”
The Accelerator program helped Tiffany clarify her business challenges and position Manageability for future opportunities, including state and federal contract bids. With YWCA Oʻahu’s support, she established a strong foundation for continued success and expansion into new markets.
Mentorship has been pivotal in Tiffany’s journey, and she’s committed to paying it forward. She mentors students from the University of Hawaii at Manoa’s Shidler College of Business, providing scholarships and hiring interns, and regularly shares her own journey to inspire others. Tiffany’s story highlights the lasting impact mentorship can have on career paths and business success.
